Naked Ash Barley

Naked Ash Barley is a 350 SRM specialty roasted grain made from MT Kidd hulless barley, a unique barley variety that produces a smooth, refined roast character. The absence of a husk helps reduce harsh tannins during roasting, resulting in a cleaner, more approachable roasted profile. It contributes a deep dark brown to black color with aromas of roasted grain and subtle smoke, followed by flavors of sweet cigar, coffee grounds, and ashy roast. Used in smaller percentages, Naked Ash Barley adds depth, color, and complexity while maintaining a smooth finish. It is an excellent choice for Irish dry stouts, porters, and other dark beer styles seeking rich roasted character without excessive bitterness.
