Working with Karl and the team at Gallatin Valley Malt has been a fantastic experience. They are willing to listen to the brewer’s needs and then make it happen. Their studious and scientific approach to malting results in a phenomenal product. This is truly CRAFT malt.

Most of our specialty beers are heavy with Gallatin Valley Malt including our wheat beers which all contain GVM’s malted and/or unmalted wheat. Of all their malts, though, we especially like their 2-row pale. Not only because it’s local and fresh, but it has more color and character than most standard American pale malts. Using locally-grown malt helps us stand out in a very competitive market.

“Throughout my career, I have been searching for a domestically grown and malted base malt to meet or surpass those we have imported over the years. Karl and Gallatin Valley Malt were the first to deliver a world-class malt grown and malted right here in Montana. Thank you, Karl, we have found what we were searching for.”

Gallatin Valley Malt creates craft malts that consistently deliver some of the best beers I have ever brewed. Their unique experience as grower and maltster set them apart and I would recommend GVM to anyone looking to create truly high-quality local craft beer.
